چکیده
In our work we were interested in the toxicity of fluorine on various parameters stress: chlorophyll, proteins, and antioxidant system lichen Xanthoria parietina (L.) Th. Fr., for this purpose, thalli treated by sodium fluoride (NaF) at concentrations 0, 0.5, 1.0, 5.0 10.0 mM, time scale 24, 48 96 h. The analysis results obtained revealed that all evaluated showed significant variations compared to those controls. From obtained, it was noted chlorophyll a (Ca), b (Cb) total (Ca+b) decreased correlating with exposure times NaF (r = -0.785, p < 0.001; r -0.955, -0.899, 0.001, respectively), increase Ca/b ratio (p 0.00572**) showing Cb more affected than Ca. However, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) increased 0.949, 0.001). correlation concentrations, Glutathione (GSH) 0.969, 0.001), while proteins -0.872, Furthermore, catalase activity (CAT) increasing X. NaF. Long-term (48 h -96 h) caused decrease GSH content 0.02*) followed destruction

Quantum nature of photon signal emitted by Xanthoria parietina and its implications to biology.
The properties of living systems are usually described in the semi-classical framework that makes phenomenological division of properties into four classes--matter, psyche, soft consciousness and hard consciousness. Quantum framework provides a scientific basis of this classification of properties. The scientific basis requires the existence of macroscopic quantum entity entangled with quantum ...
متن کاملPurification and Characterization of Two Isolectins with Arginase Activity from the Lichen Xanthoria parietina
Two glycoproteins were purified and biochemically characterized from the lichen X. parietina. Both behaved as enzymes with arginase activity and haemaglutinins. Secreted arginase (SA) contained galactose and glucose in the saccharide moiety and an isoelectric point of 4.54. The algal binding-protein (ABP) had N-acetyl-glucosamine and glucose as glycosidic residues and an isoelectric point of 3....
متن کاملThe bromoperoxidase from the lichen Xanthoria parietina is a novel vanadium enzyme.
A novel bromoperoxidase was isolated from the lichen Xanthoria parietina. The enzyme contained vanadium, which is essential for enzymic activity. Under denaturating conditions the preparation showed a single protein band with an Mr of 65,000. Thermal-denaturation studies showed that this bromoperoxidase could tolerate high temperatures. The affinity of the enzyme for its substrate bromide is hi...
متن کاملThe protective effect of rosemary in mitigating oxidative stress induced by Chlorpyrifos in rat kidney
Introduction: Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphorus insecticide that can produce reactive oxygen species, and oxidative stress in the kidney. On the other hand, rosemary extract is an antioxidant playing a protective role against free radicals. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the oxidative stress in rat kidney due to the exposure to chlorpyrifos and to assess the antioxidant effe...
متن کاملReduction in Aluminum Induced Oxidative Stress by Meloxicam in Rat Brain
Background: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) have been associated with antioxidant property and have been shown to improve the circulating antioxidant status on daily dosing in different inflammatory conditions. The present study was conducted to investigate the antioxidant role of meloxicam in aluminum induced oxidative stress in rat brain. Methods: In the in vivo experiments, Spr...
